Karachi: Amir Mehmood Kayani, former MNA and senior member of the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaaf (PTI) has decided to quit party over a "difference of opinion.
He expressed regret over the May 9 violent protests by PTI leaders, workers and supporters and said that the events changed his mind about his political future.
" I made my decision two months ago, but will formally announce it today," he said , adding that he cannot go against armed forces.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaaf (PTI) MNA from Karachi Mahmood Moulvi announced parting ways with party.

Amir Mehmood Kayani served as Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, from 20 August 2018 to 18 April 2019 in PTI govt tenure. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 till January 2023.
" I have never gone against, nor will I ever go against the army," he had said. Moulvi further revealed that he might join a charitable organization or form a new political party.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, the PTI MNA announced that he is resigning from the PTI in light of the attacks on military installations during violent protests on May 9 in the country after the arrest of Imran Khan.
